Dewi James
Actuary
He is a long-standing fellow of the institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India.
Dewi is on the Panel of Actuaries in India, has an Indian Certificate of Practice (CoP) and also a UK CoP to act as Chief Actuary and further credentials to provide Statements of Opinion on the technical provisions of Lloyd’s syndicates.
Dewi currently acts as mentor for certain AA’s in the direct and reinsurance sector in India. He is closely involved in quarterly and year-end processes for those companies including regulatory filings, new product regulatory filings and responding to regulatory queries.
He has extensive experience in financial modelling, capital modelling under Solvency II and other RBC frameworks in several jurisdictions.
Navin Iyer
Actuary
Navin is a Chartered Accountant and Actuary and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Indian and the Institute and Faculty in the UK.
He has 2 decades of experience in the Insurance and Financial sector.
He is currently a consulting Appointed Actuary to several non-life Companies in Indian Sub-continent and Nepal . He has also acted as a Consulting SME to Genpact for its actuarial processes in European, US and Australian markets covering reserving, capital and pricing related aspects.
He has worked in various senior management roles in the Indian Insurance industry as Chief Actuary, certifier of Indian reinsurance branch business and has provided senior level advice in many complex areas (e.g mass tort exposure to asbestos/pollution).
Satyukt Analytics
Our key collaboration partner is led by Dr Sat Kumar Tomer
Dr. Sat Kumar is currently the CEO/Co-founder of Satyukt, a company providing high-resolution data for agriculture, water resources and crop insurance.
His expertise includes the estimation of higher resolution information using the multi-satellite remote sensing. His Ph.D. is from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2012 and he was subsequently research associate in CESBIO, Toulouse, France during 2012-2015.
His team is developing innovative algorithms to estimate the key agriculture variables (e.g. soil moisture, crop health, crop water usage, crop type, crop yield, etc.) using microwave and optical remote sensing. The data is used at all levels in the agricultural sector for risk assessment, data visualisation and predictive yield modelling
